Ford India officially launched its first made-for-India model in New Delhi yesterday, hoping to target the small car market which accounts for 70 percent of the country’s automobile sales. www.fordfigo.in is the official website of Ford Figo.

The Figo, priced aggressively at US$7690, is set to compete against already established models like Hyundai’s i10, Chevrolet’s Beat, Chevrolet’s Spark, Volkswagen AG’s Polo, and Maruti Suzuki’s Ritz and Swift. Renault, Nissan, Toyota, and Honda also have plans to introduce models into the market within the next few years.
“If you are not in a segment where 70 percent of cars in India are purchased, you are not there at all,” said Ford India President Michael Boneham at a press conference.
“This is the right product and at the right price point for Ford,” he said, commenting on the low price of the Figo. “We are not in the business to lose money. You can get profits of scale and you can also compete in a very price-sensitive environment.”
Ford will be manufacturing its new model at their plant in Chennai, which has a production capacity of 200,000 units per year.
Ford Figo would give direct competition to Other manufacturers like Maruti and Hyundai who have had huge profits from sales in India. There have been 2.5 25,000 bookings of Figo in 100 days before its release. Ford this time boasts best-in-class air-conditioning, dual front air bags, better fuel efficiency, Figo will be available in Petrol as well as diesel variants.

Fuel effecient of Ritz is 22 kms /ltr with ac on highway, (and the 2nd service is not yet done.) the average is bound to go up….Car is roomy inside, air conditioning is super efficient, I never had to go above the 1 level .this is the best hatch back value for money!
ritz is very comfortable to drive and better utilisation of space. Very smooth gear shifting and you donot even if the engine is on.good in milleage… on the whole it is too good in its performance and its features
I bought figo petrol.As per the informations got from dealer the mileage should be 15km/lr.But it seems to be below 10km/lr.Where should I complain? To the dealer or directly to the company?
Ritz is definitely the best car in its segment today.I own a petrol version.. great drive …enjoying it… 2500 KM done in city average mileage till date 15.54KMs. engine is smooth and refined. waiting for a long trip in it
Ritz is a great car with cool interiors and even the leg space in the car is huge and the engine is best in Technology. with K-12 engine its made of Aluminium and is very powerful and best part its from Maruti.

Maruti Ritz is a better car when compared to figo. Ritz has higher ground clearance, refined engine and consistent mileage. Ritz will also get better resale value!!!
compared to figo ritz is better, Maruti has always been giving good cars. Ritz is a durable product. When comparing with Micra, Ritz K series engine pick up is fast and performance is also good, No engine noise, NVH factors are less and Ritz is a value for money hatchback. Go for Ritz!
